Exploring Next Steps
Based on the success of the SSH Babies app,
the hospital has launched a bariatrics app
where users input height, weight, and blood
pressure to determine whether they qualify
for bariatric surgery. The app also includes
schedules of informational sessions about the
hospital’s bariatric options and healthy living
tips such as recipes.
“We have the ability to host multiple apps
with MobileSmith,” Poppish says. “In addition
to the bariatrics app, we’re exploring an app for
use by the neonatal ICU and fielding interest

“It can be a hard lesson for health care, but
in the mobile tech world, good is good enough
to get going,” Poppish says. “If you focus on
